World Book Day!

World Book Day!

Today it was World Book Day and we had a fantastic time celebrating with our friends! We all brought our favourite books in from home and we shared them with each other. We did a circle time and each child sat on the stage and talked about the book they had brought in and explained why it was their favourite. In the morning, we had hot chocolate and toast and then we had a competition where we designed and coloured in our own bookmark and the winner won a book! James W was chosen as the winner and he chose a Minecraft book as his prize. Congratulations James!

In our English lesson, we wrote a book review of our book and we talked about the title, author, illustrator, plot and our favourite part. Miss Harrison shared her favourite children's book which is The Gruffalo and she showed us how to write a book review. We all love this book too!

We had a wonderful day and it was great to see everybody so excited about reading! Take a look at us designing our bookmarks and talking about our favourite books below. You can help me at home by listening to me read and discussing my story with me.
