Paris

Welcome to Paris’ Class Page

We are a Year 4 class. The children in Paris have settled in well and are enjoying their new learning experiences. This term our thematic study title is “Discovery”. All of our learning will link to our Literacy Count text “Rhythm of the Rain”. Please see this term’s learning journey in the planning overview attached.

We have:

  • PE on a Tuesday 9am-10am
  • Violins on a Tuesday 1.55pm -2.30pm
  • Swimming on a Friday 9.30am-10.30am

PE

On Tuesday our PE session is taken by Everton in the Community. Our coaches are Tom and Steve and we have enjoyed wonderful team bonding tasks so far and can’t wait for more fun lessons this year.

Swimming

For the next eight weeks (week commencing 6th September) Paris will be swimming on a Friday morning. All children must have suitable swim wear (swimming costume and swimming trunks), a swimming cap, a towel and a snack for after their swim. Loose fitting shorts are not permitted and unfortunately children will not be able to access the pool and lesson unless they have suitable swimming trunks.

Reading Books

Your child will change their reading book upon bringing their completed book in to school and to ensure your child can further develop their love of reading they will choose their reading book themselves. It is of great importance that your child reads on a regular basis and brings their book in daily.

Home learning

In Year 4, your child will receive a list of ten spellings to learn weekly and will be expected to access Reading Plus at home at least three times a week. Additionally, to support with your child’s timetables, children will have timetables set on their Timetable Rockstar account weekly. Homework will be set on their school Seesaw account.

A gentle reminder to please send £2 in per half term to pay for daily snack.
