Our topics in the Summer Term are:

English- We will study Poetry and perform choral poetry, research and produce Biographies and adventure stories. We will also be looking at aspects of grammar and have weekly spellings dependent on our Stage.  

Maths - We will continue using the formal written methods for subtraction, addition, multiplication and division and using to solve one and two stepped problems. We will be developing our understanding of fractions, decimals and percentages and the relationship between them. We will continue to develop our understanding of shape and geometry, especially angles, turns, translation and symmetry and telling the time to 5 minutes intervals and converting between 12 and 24 hour clock.

 Science  Summer 1'Plants' - Identifying the different parts of plants. discovering how they grow and what they need to grow and reproduce.

Our topic for Summer Term 2 is: 'Shadows and Light'

Religious Education - The themes of Energy, Pentecost, Choices and Special Places will be studied during the Summer Term.

History - Local History Study of Huyton, particularly the development of the railway.

Geography - Mountains - how they are formed, their physical characteristics and locations focusing on map work including grid references.

Design Technology- Design, make and evaluate a moving monster toy using a pneumatic system. Create and cook the dish 'scouse'. 

Art and Design- Making a mountain using materials including Mod Roc. (3D sculpture). Studying and recreating the works and techniques of Vincent Van Gogh, Georgia O'Keeffe and Claude Monet. 

Computing- Using iPads to design and write algorithms-Scratch Jnr, using relevant websites to enhance learning. Using Pic collage to create a mountains poster.

Physical Education- Developing our throwing and catching skills through the team games of Rounders and Invasion game of Netball.

Music-Weekly singing and hymn practice. Developing music skills and  learning to play a musical instrument with Mrs Gopaul- a specialist music teacher.
