PE: Tuesday and Friday (we need our full PE kits in on these days)

Swimming - we will begin our  week block of swimming lessons at the leisure centre on June 10th. The children will need their swimming kits, including swimming cap, each day except Friday during this time.

Reading Books - we should read every night and bring our books in each day to be checked. Our books get changed on a Tuesday.

Times tables - we are having a big focus on learning our tables so need to practise them at home as part of our home learning.

Spellings - we bring a spelling list home each week to practise and learn.

Our topic for the first half term is  Mountains, Earthquakes and Volcanoes. In the second half term we will be developing our knowledge of the geographical features of islands and rivers.

In this term we will be reading 'Sugarcane Juice' and writing our own tension filled episode using features we have identified during our Language and Literacy lessons. We will also be writing our very own mystery story. Our grammar work will focus on adverbs and the use of adverbial phrases. Spelling rules will continue to cover suffixes and some prefixes for Year 3. The children will also have challenge words from Year 3/4 list and topic words to learn to spell.

In maths we will continue to develop our knowledge of place value and basic skills. Each year group will be working through Power Maths covering age appropriate topics

Our Science topics for Summer are Light and Shadows and Plants.

We will be discussing how shadows are made and investigating refective and non reflective materials. in our Plants topic we will be exploring how plants grow and what they need to survive

In RE we will continue to explore the work of the Holy Spirit and introduce two exciting new topics, Building Bridges and Special Places. Miss Telfor-Clarke will support our personal and social development and help our emotional well being with work based on 'It's good to be me'.

It's hola to Senorita Maria who is going to introduce sports and our home environment in Spanish and EFC in the community will continue to support our physical development with exciting activities.

Finally, our violin lessons with Mrs Ali will continue .
