St Aloysius Catholic Primary School Together with Jesus, we Love, Learn and Believe

Home learning

We are working so hard in class to prepare for our end of year assesments!  We are encouraged to read at home each night and we know this is so important in order for us to make progress.

Please ensure you read with your child each night, for 5 or 10 minutes.  Ask them lots of questions about what they have read to check their understanding.  If you have any questions please don't hesitate to speak to Miss Mottram who will be more than happy to help you.

Children should know their 2, 5 and 10 times tables and we are constantly practising these in class.  Please practise these with your child at home and make sure you ask them to answer them in a different order to challenge them!   When you feel your child is secure with the multiplication facts for a particular times table then try asking them the associated division fact too.

In class we do lots of kinds of writing from letters to re-telling stories and writing reports.  At home your child could write about lots of differetn lists, writing about what they have done at the weekend or on holiday and even making up their own story!  Please encourage your child to write as often as possible.

Learning should be fun so make sure you don't work too hard and enjoy yourself along the way!
