Our Year 6 Cairo pupils have made a great start to this academic year and are working extremely hard in class. Some children have already begun to be responsible for monitor jobs in school, such as selling snack and delivering registers. The children are determined to make the most of their last year in Primary school and we have lots of fun and exciting activities planned for the year ahead!
Our topics in the Autumn Term are:
Rise of the Robots
and
Disaster Strikes!
Please look at our curriculum overview to see what we will be learning about in our topics.
Homework - this is given every Friday (glued into a homework book) and is to be handed back in the following Tuesday. Usually, this will be English and Maths, linked to our learning that week. Please make sure your homework is returned!
Reading - this is even more important than ever in Year 6 as we really build on fluency, understanding and develop our knowledge of authors. Please read every day for at least 10 minutes. Books are changed every Wednesday.
Times Tables Learning - by now you should know your tables up to 12x12! Learn the division facts too! Daily practise is essential to increase speed.
P.E. - official lesson days are Monday and Wednesday but it's a good idea to have your kit in every day!
