St Aloysius Catholic Primary School Together with Jesus, we Love, Learn and Believe

Belfast

Hola!

Welcome to Belfast.

We are a Year 1 class made up of 30 fantastic children.

Our class teacher is Miss Rawsthorne and our teaching assistant is Mrs Dickinson.

Please keep checking our page to see all the exciting adventures and learning that takes place within our class.

Important Information

  • Our reading books are changed every Wednesday, however we ask that children are to be reading their books every night so they can become super confident readers. Children can receive up to 10 smileys a week for their fantastic reading at home.
  • Children are required to be logging onto spelling shed to help them become confident and fluent spellers. If we see children are trying hard on spelling shed, the can receive up to 10 smileys and even get a prize out the prize box!
  • We have P.E every Tuesday and Wednesday so please make sure your child has a full P.E kit ready so they do not miss out on the fun!
  • Our class bear is very special and can only go home with one child who has lived out our mission statement that week. We ask if your child receives Poppy on a Friday, please have her back to us on the Tuesday as she needs to learn too!

We have set ourselves the challenge of running the 145 miles it would take to run from Liverpool to Belfast during our well being breaks. Please ask the children how we are getting on with our journey!

In Science we have been learning all about the human body. This half term we will be studying all the different types of animals we can find on the planet. If your child does any work on this at home please bring it in for us to share.

In Geography we have been studying our local area. Please next time you are out for a walk, ask your child to show you the key buildings and features we found on our walk of the local area. They might even show you how you can make your very own treasure map!

Our current Come and See topic is Belonging. The children are really enjoying this topic and have took part in reflecting on all the groups they belong to. A key part of this topic is the Sacrament of Baptism, so if you have any memories from your child's Baptism, that you would be happy for your child to share with the class, that would be fantastic!

It has been wonderful getting to know all of our special children and their families, and don't forget if you have any questions do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you for visiting our page!
