In Autumn Term, our thematic learning is based around the question 'Is change always a good thing?' We have linked this to a wonderful text called The Secret of Black Rock by Joe Todd Stanton.
As part of this theme we will look at our local area in geography and make some suggstions for changes to improve our school. With a new build happening over the next few years, we may be able to have a real impact on decisions that are being made.
We will link this to the history of St Aloysius School and how it has changed since it was built in the 1930s. We will interview ex-pupils about some of the changes they have seen and use artefacts such as the old school logbook, photographs, plans and maps.
In art we will discover the work of Andy Goldsworty and how he uses the environment to create his artwork. Design and Technology will see us designing and sewing a stuffed puppet.
We are starting Computing with looking at our online lives and making sure we know how to be safe online and in real life. PE sessions with Coach Darren will help us to build skills and teamwork this term. We will have singing lessons with Mrs McMullen as well as music lessons in class.
Senorita Maria will continue to visit us once a week for Spanish lessons.
