The Queen's Diamond Jubilee!
This week we've been celebrating The Queen's Diamond Jubilee. We've been learning about The Queen, discussing what she does and looking at a timeline of her life. Our classroom has been decorated in bunting and we've been very busy making exciting things in the continous provision. We've been making crowns, flags, guards and paper chains in the craft area, making cakes for the tea party in the playdough, painting Union Jacks and portraits of The Queen in the painting area, writing facts about The Queen in the writing area and ordering a timeline of her life. We've been so busy!
We've also been writing fact files and invitations to the party during literacy and we all made a collage portrait of the Queen for our Jubilee display in the hall. Then on Friday, we all came to school wearing something red with our uniforms so we were wearing red, white and blue and we all received a special invitation to a Jubilee tea party in the dinner hall! We had a great time! What a fabulous week!
