Wow, what a wonderful day we have just had at the Dewa Experience in Chester. We set off early along with Paris and Rome, looking forward to a busy day of adventures. After arriving we walked through the interactive museum, learning some interesting, and often disgusting facts about the Romans. Did you know they ate dormice as a delicacy? We all agreed we prefer chocolate!
After that we had great fun in the hands on room, learning to how to make mosaics, dressing up and smelling some of the pleasant and not so pleasant smells from Roman times.
Luckily the sun was shining in the afternoon when we became Roman soldiers marching around the walls of Chester with our very own guide. We had shields and learned how to defend ourselves, attack enemies and discovered how the amphitheatre was used for Gladiator fights where Mrs Phillips almost had her head chopped off!
We learned so much from this experience and it will be a great help in our Treasures topic.?
