Wow, what a week! Classes 10 and 9 have just returned from a wonderful week in sunny Wales. We were very excited to get out of the classroom and gain some new skills, confidence and friends. We certainly had fun as we too part in a range of challenging and sometimes scary activities. It was a real pleasure to see all of the children cope so well using team work and realising how much they are capable of achieving when they work hard.
Experiencing climbing up and abseiling down Barmouth Slabs, zipwire and rope course, kayaking, mountain adventure, beach studies and tasting fresh spring water straight from the source was something we can think back to with pride and a few smiles.
Evenings were just as fun packed as we enjoyed every last ray of sunshine on Barmouth beach, playing cricket, football, tennis, 'Queeny-I' and burying each other in the sand. The problem solving exercises were great fun on the last night and brought out the competitive side in some of us!
The classes should now put this new confidence and belief in themselves into action back at school. The holiday shows a different side to people we have known for many years, forged new friendships and created memories we can treasure for years to come.
