            Welcome to Paris

We are a mixed year 3 and 4 class.

Our teacher is Mrs Court.

Our teaching assistant is Mrs Millington.

PE: Tuesday and Thursday (we need our full PE kits in on these days)

Reading Books - we should read every night and bring our books in each day to be checked and to earn smilies . smiley Our books get changed on a Tuesday.

Times tables - we are having a big focus on learning our tables so remember to log on to Rock stars regularly to rock those tables and earn certificates!

Spellings - we bring a spelling list home from Spelling Shed each week to practise and learn.

                                  SUMMER 1 LEARNING

Our topic for this term is Island Life and we will be focussing on Mountains, Volcanoes and Earthquakes.

(Please see our Knowledge Organiser for more information).

In Language and Literacy we will be reading a text called Sugar Cane Juice and writing our own descriptions using all the features we have identified. Spelling rules will continue to cover suffixes and prefixes. The children will also have challenge words from Year 3/4 list and topic words to learn to spell.

Computing will focus on our on-line life.

Our Science topic is Light and Shadows and we will be investigating how shadows are made and how they change. We will then move on to study Plants, focussing on pollination and seed dispersal.

In RE we will be learning about Pentecost in the topic Energy and then move onto Building Bridges and Special Places. Miss Telfor-Clarke will support our personal and social development and help our emotional well being with work based on Relationships and Changes.

It's hola to Senorita Maria who is going to introduce the topics Leisure and the Summer in Spanish and EFC in the community will continue to support our physical development with exciting activities.

Finally, our violin lessons with Mrs Ali will continue and we hope to have another successful recital for you to attend at the end of the Summer term.
