Today we had lots of fun helping Year 1 to achieve their maths targets. As the oldest children in the school Class 10 are wonderful role models and peer mentors to younger children. We set up lots of different maths activities and each worked with a small group to help Class 3 count backwards from 20, count up in 2s, find number bonds to 10 and played ddition and subtraction bingo. There were Easter baskets with rewards for every station completed
We were really impressed at how well they worked and with the different strategies they used. We asked them questions, explained different ways of finding answers and helped them to discover different ways of doing maths. It was a great morning and inspired us as much as Year 1.
We promise to come back and work with Class 3 after SATs!!
