Wow! What a fun and interesting week!
WE were met in assembly on Monday by a very distressed and upset Red Riding Hood, Ugly Stepsisters and Jack. They were crying because some of their prized possessions had been stolen by the 'Big Bad Wolf'. The children were asked to help solve the mystery and get their belongings back.
Year 6 were very sympathetic to the wolf and decided to investigate why he had taken these items. We investigated alternative Fairy tales, such as: Honestly, Cinderella is so annoying!, The true story of the Big Bad Wolf, The Thre Littlee Wolves and the Big Bad Pig.
We wrote and filmed newsflashes about the events and even wrote special FairyLand weather forecasts. As part of the fun, we set up a Twitter account for the wolf @StAloysiusWolf and sent some teasing clues to the other classes.
At the end of the week, we realised that the wolf had only borrowed the items and had always meant to return them to their rightful owners! We helped him to write some letters of apology to the characters, and were pleased to see that the apologies were accepted.
