In Science this half term we have been learning all about circuits and conductors. We remembered lots from Key Stage 1 and were able to make simple circuits with no problems, Mrs Phillips was very impressed!
We planned how we could find out which materials were good conductors (that means allow electricity to flow through well). We made predictions before we started and then put each item into the circuit. Following this we used our new knowledge to choose materials that would be suitable to make a switch for our circuits. We all agreed that metal is a good conductor and searched around the class for usable objects. We designed a range of switches with our partners and were all able to switch the bulb on and off without disconnecting the wires! We were very proud of ourselves. Mrs Phillips says we are looking at light and shadows later in the year and we might be able to make out own torches using what we have learned so far. We cannot wait!
