Art & Craft Club
Miss Harrison has started an after school Art and Craft club on Wednesdays. It was opened to Year 1 and Year 2 and we had approximately 50 responses! We chose names out of a hat and children will attend for 4 sessions each to ensure that all children have the opportuntity to attend! Miss Mottram comes to help too and is very impressed with how well behaved the children are. Each week we do a new activity and the children make something to take home!
The first group has just finished and this is what we did...
The children made Mother's Day presents! Everybody made a bracelet for their mum and drew a picture of them and their mum and put it in a frame and then decorated a butterfly using colour and sequins.
The children made tribal masks using bright colours and feathers. The children looked at lots of different tribal masks and used them to inspire their own designs.
The children made a sign for their bedrooms at home. We used card, foam letters, stick on shapes, eyes, paper flowers and sequins.
The children made a felt butterfly cushion. They learnt how to sew for the first time, then decorated their cushion using pipe cleaners and sequins.
The children were so pleased each week with their creations and were excited to find out what we'd be making each week. Everyone said they loved attending the club! Look at the pictures of what we made below and read our 'Learning Story'!
The next group will start on Wednesday 27th April
