A Tudor Feast

The children had an interesting day making pottage, bread and marchpane (marzipan) sweets. Some of the children  prepared bread and others washed, peeled and chopped fresh vegetables including leeks, onions, carrots, parsnips and cabbage harvested from my dad's allotment. After lunch the children made their own marchpane sweet designs, which they later ate!  They then feasted on pottage and bread, some children even asked for seconds. Delicious!
